Tshwane Leadership Foundation

About this host - 'Tshwane Leadership Foundation'

TLF does not only care for the most vulnerable and marginalized in society but addresses the root of the systemic issues that create the situations of vulnerability and marginalization.

TLF has holistic and diverse care programmes that you can get involved in.

Throughout the last 28 years, TLF has become well-known for its broad partnerships and networks, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, ensuring socio-economic justice for the most vulnerable.
With us, volunteers will experience a broad scope of involvement, from advocacy, skills training, and healthcare, to exploring local arts.

We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds because YOU can make a difference to someone in our diverse communities.

Details of help

Because the needs of our different communities differ, we try to also place volunteers according to where they will best be suited.
We encourage volunteers to spend at least 3 workdays a week with us, and also want them to experience the city and get a better understanding of the context in order to share an understanding of the city’s people.

Accommodation

The Tshwane Leadership Foundation (TLF) is an inner-city community organization, committed to socially inclusive urban transformation. It has demonstrated its commitment to the city’s most vulnerable populations since 1993 and created innovative programmes for women and girls, children and youth, and homeless communities.

TLF has become well-known for its broad partnerships and networks, and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, to ensure socio-economic justice for the most vulnerable. The approach of TLF is centred around compassion and justice.

We offered shared accommodation with other local and international volunteers. Our residencies are very close to our different sites so volunteers can walk or make use of public transport.

TLF is community based- allowing volunteers to be fully integrated and explore all that Pretoria has to offer.
