How FairestBnb Began
FairestBnb began with a simple dream: to make it easier for people to use their knowledge and skills to support organisations making a difference. While searching for meaningful volunteer opportunities abroad, I discovered how difficult it was to find reliable NGOs, compare opportunities and connect with organisations that truly matched our skills and availability.
That experience inspired the creation of FairestBnb. Today, our mission has evolved beyond volunteering. We connect businesses, skilled professionals, foundations and NGOs to create meaningful partnerships and lasting social impact.
Why Change Was Needed
As we explored opportunities to contribute our skills, we quickly realised how difficult it was to find the right NGO. Although there were countless inspiring organisations and meaningful projects, finding a suitable match proved far more challenging than expected.
- Finding reliable opportunities was time-consuming, with each NGO operating independently on its own website.
- Many opportunities did not match our availability, preferred project duration or budget.
- Many platforms required paid memberships without guaranteeing that we would find a suitable opportunity.
- Communication was often slow, as many organisations simply did not have the time or capacity to respond to every enquiry.
The Spark of Innovation
The challenges we experienced inspired a much bigger idea. FairestBnb began as a platform to make volunteering more accessible, but it has grown into something far greater. Today, FairestBnb connects businesses, skilled professionals, foundations and NGOs to create meaningful partnerships that strengthen organisations and generate lasting social impact. We believe that sustainable change is created not only through financial support, but by sharing knowledge, expertise and experience where it is needed most.
